Good points. I think the reason an iPad may appeal to me is for my architectural photography (Medieval France) and stained glass windows. It may make it less of a crap shoot.

Do you post your photos on Flickr? I'd like to see more images you've produced with this camera. I'm considering the 7d or the 5d and I'd like to see what other photographers are producing with this gear.

Thanks so much for this article. It is one of the most well written and helpful descriptions of the choices facing someone who wants to do self-publishing or selling. I set up my Canon 40D to take pictures every 3 minutes over night last night. Took 160 pictures over 8 hours. Battery icon showed the camera was still full. I think as long as you are not running long exposures, your batteries may be fine.

Hello Belinda:

The time lapse I demonstrated was over a 2 hour period. My batteries did fine. For a 24 hour period however, you may need to plug the camera in or do a battery swap. I would ,however, be careful with a battery swap because you may move the camera and any movement will ruin the time lapse effect. Also, depending on the camera you are using your mileage may vary.

Good luck and let me know how it works out. (I may test it out tonight just to see how long it works myself). I currently shoot with a Canon 40D.
